2022 & 2023

DESCRIPTION

NAJ organized two Promo Funds, supporting artists/bands in the promotion of their albums or release. The fund aimed to provide support to create promotional materials to build out grantees’ audience, increase the visibility and catalyze further career opportunities. In 2024, many of these projects that the grants supported were realized. A total of 22 bands were supported:

FREEK MULDER | KOTOKID

Kotokid (Freek Mulder) released his album in a sold-out Paradiso, one of the most renowned music venues in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam. He used the grant to professionally film the show, creating new promotional material.

“Thanks to NAJ I was able to have my release concert in Paradiso professionally filmed. They also helped me create my own light show. As a result, I now have fantastic promotional material to book my own show with!”

LIVA DUMPE

Liva Dumpe released her debut album with the help of NAJ’s grant. Her album went on to be nominated for Best Debut Album and Best Jazz Album by Latvian Music Award Zelta Mikrofons.

“NAJ promo fund helped me greatly with developing the visual identity and promotion of my debut album “Tālskatis”. I got to work with professionals who made my vision come to life and the album to receive as much visibility as possible.”

ELLA ZIRINA

NAJ supported Ella Zirina with the promo for her new trio album, released by Dox Records. Ella used the grant to create a video and make artwork. Ella was nominated for an Edison Jazz Award in 2024 and played the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2024.
