“New Amsterdam Jazz played a crucial part in the realization of our tour with Fuensanta & Ensamble Grande in Mexico earlier this year. Bringing this ensemble to my home country had been a treasured dream for many years.

Traveling with a large ensemble is a challenge anywhere, but in even more so to Latin America, where venues & ticket sales cannot absorb the costs of live acts unless they are massively commercial. This makes creative & experimental music from abroad practically inaccessible, despite the great thirst and appreciation for it.

Thanks to our subsidy application supported by NAJ, we were able to travel with a crew of 14 people with musicians from all over the world and perform 5 concerts in different cities, some of them with free entry.”
